The Cheekwood Botanical Garden and Museum of Art displays a stunning collection of art, both antique and contemporary, contained within a lovely 1932 Georgian-styled mansion and surrounded by acres of beautiful gardens. The art collection itself is predominately focused on pieces of American art, decorative arts from England and America and works by contemporary artists. Botanical gardens showcase a variety of local and non-native plants in structured environments like a water garden and a Japanese garden, but one of the most popular areas is the Carell Woodland Sculpture Trail, where modern pieces of art are set within the lovely Tennessee forest. The museum is just south of Belle Meade Country Club, just a short drive from the historical Belle Meade Plantation.
