Went in for an exhaust repair/replacement. Was charged $50 for the privilege of getting an estimate -- never had that happen before -- and quoted $1000 for the total repair. I'd had the same repair done on two other cars, and I had never paid over $500. Usually I would expect the mechanic to tell me the details of the repair, but that didn't happen. The person in front just handed me the estimate and expected me to shell out $1000. Turns out they hadn't even tried to save the catalytic converter, which would explain a couple hundred dollars. But even taking that into account, the price was ridiculously high. I don't mind paying a little extra for quality work, but this was just a ripoff. I ended up going to another shop, which did save the converter, and repair ended up costing $500, as I'd expected. I'll grant the person in front is friendly but that doesn't mean much when the mechanics are trying to take advantage of the customer. I wouldn't trust this shop with anything more than an oil change. Definitely get some other (free!) quotes on big repair jobs.

I work on the Vandy campus and desperately needed an oil change without having to wait until after work. I decided to take my SUV to this little place in Hillsboro Village so that I could just walk back to work. It was ready right when they said it would be. I just walked back over and picked it up. It was only $30 for the oil change, fluids/tire pressure checked, etc, and it's a little more expensive for me b/c I have an SUV, so if you have a car, it may be even less than $30. The girl at the counter was very nice and helpful. No one tried to sell me anything extra like those other chain places do. I couldn't have been more satisfied. I love that can now have auto repair done close by while I'm working so I don't have to waste my personal time after work. I also like that I'm giving my business to a LOCAL place!!
